Hi, and welcome to The Bible Briefs! Are you a curious seeker exploring the relevance of Christianity in your life or a believer seeking to deepen your faith journey? Are you just plain lost and frustrated? If so, we are excited to have you here.

The Bible Briefs: A Shared Journey

At The Bible Briefs, we're on a fascinating shared journey of discovery and growth. This isn't just another Christian website and blog—it's a community of seekers and believers.

In this community, questions are encouraged, doubts are welcomed, and hearts are open. We try to answer the tricky question, "Why are we here?

We are fellow sojourners engaging in God's wonder and awe. As such, we have more questions than answers, but we seek answers to our questions in the Bible.

Most of us are not Biblical scholars, but we can read, think, critically analyze, study, and pray as we seek knowledge, understanding, and wisdom. We believe iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17). A key distinction with The Bible Briefs is this:

God's Word informs us at The Bible Briefs, not vice versa. We follow God's Word pragmatically. For example, consider this verse from the Letter of James:

"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him." James 1:5, ESV

Also, if you search James 1:5 in other Bible translations/versions, you may find some stylistic differences in the verse. At The Bible Briefs, we encourage you to consider many different versions as you seek God's truth. Why? Because God's Word assures us that He will not let us be deceived. Take a peak at the Gospel according to John. Jesus said:

"But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you." John 14:26, ESV.

This is why the Bible version/translation is always secondary to God's promise. God didn't say the Holy Spirit would teach and remind us, assuming we read the "authorized" Bible version. Let's not get bogged down in the mud of one translation's superiority over another. If God doesn't specify, how can we?

The Bible Briefs: Why Christianity?

You might be wondering, "Why Christianity? What makes it worth exploring?" Great questions! Let me offer a brief personal response.

Christianity isn't just about following a set of rules or rituals; yes, it is a religion AND a relationship – a relationship with a loving Creator who desires to walk alongside us every step of the way. It's about discovering purpose, finding hope, and experiencing transformation from the inside out. It's about discovering love, joy, peace and six additional "fruit of the Spirit" that, once discovered, will blow your mind and transform your life.

But don't just take our Word for it. Throughout history and worldwide, the message of Jesus Christ has touched and transformed countless lives. We'll be sharing many stories of transformation here at The Bible Briefs.

It's a true story that resonates with both hearts and minds. It's a true story of love, redemption, and hope. Who among us in this broken world doesn't need that?
